Jan 22, 2021
I recently went LIVE in The Women's Health Collective facebook group and I went through my top tips for taking care of yourself while making memories with your kids during the school holidays.
School holidays can be a stressful and triggering time for a lot of mums!
Between the "I'm hungryssss", "I'm boreddddd", arguing amongst siblings, the constant mess and everyone in the house all up in your business (no toilet break is sacred!)
Top tips to find self care for YOU in the holidays;
1. Meditation using the app 1GiantMind 🧘🏻‍♀️
2. Gratitude journal or say out loud morning and night 🙏
3. Have fun... dance like no one is watching 💃🏿
Great things to do to get the kids away from the screen...
1. Go for a walk by the beach
2. Have a dance off
3. Read your book while they sit by you and read there’s.
I can’t wait to hear how you go implementing even just 1 of these 🥰

Why reflecting in December is so important

Jan 22, 2021

I recently went LIVE in The Women's Health Collective facebook group with some questions that we can all use to help us reflect on 2020 throughout December, so we can enter 2021 already working toward the person that we want to be.

If you didn't get around the reflecting through December, there is no time like the present!

Don't wait till Monday, the beginning of next month or New Years, start now!

Questions to Journal on;
1. What are you most proud of achieving
2. How have you grown?
3. How have you changed? What do you want more of?
4. How are you going to make that happen?
5. What’s incomplete? What have you started but not finished? How are you going to make steps to do this before the end of December?
6. What are your top 3 priorities? What do you need to do to make these happen?
I can’t wait to hear how you go once you have made the time for YOU, reflected and become clear in where you are at and where you are going 💕💓🥰

I want what she has!

Nov 10, 2020

How many times have you seen another woman and thought to yourself…

“I wish I looked like her.”
“Her life must be perfect with thighs like that.”
“If only I could fit into those skinny jeans.”

You gaze at her long legs and thin waist and curse yourself for not looking like that.

You start to wonder what she does to look like that. She must eat celery dipped in air to get
that figure. A thousand sit ups a day to get those abs. Or she probably runs 7km every day.

Suddenly, your self-esteem is in the gutter and you find yourself making a pact that you’re
going to start a new crazy diet on Monday.

Little did you know, she walked past and also noticed you.

“I wish I had her beautiful hair” she thought to herself. “And I love her dress, I wish I could
afford beautiful clothes like that.”

Here’s a secret: comparison is the thief of joy.

And now here’s another secret: What you dislike about yourself and your...

Depression and anxiety is something that can hit you at anytime.  Many women can experience these conditions during pregnancy or even years after as the juggle of #mumlife sets in!

It is still such a a “taboo” subject amongst mothers and can often make us feel isolated, ashamed, lonely and just plain lost as to who we really are anymore!

Becoming a mother brings such a wide range of emotions so it is normal to first feel times  of passing sadness, excitement, nervousness of the unknown and at times a little stress.

All parents move through a period of adjustment when they first take home their beautiful bundle of joy while they build confidence and learn what their baby needs.

However, depression and high anxiety is more then this.  Let me explain below

So what is the difference between depression and anxiety?

  • You feel hopeless and can’t see “the light at the end of the...

Learning to understand your nutrition and the density of some foods is a great step towards fuelling your body with the greatest nutrition of your life!

Calories are a simple measure of energy in your food.  Kilojoules measure the same thing with a different measure; 1 cal = 0.004184kj.

1g of protein = 4 calories

1 g of carbs - 4 calories

1g of fat = 9 calories

1g of alcohol = 7 calories

Calorie counting will keep you more accountable for what you are putting in your mouth AND most importantly it makes you very aware of the calorie density of some foods you are choosing to fuel your body with.

For example:

Calorie counting takes the guesswork out of losing weight/gaining muscle or whatever your goal may be.  It is also great for feedback on what you can change through reflection of where you DID make choices not great for your goal. This will allow you to reach your goal faster.

Calorie tracking is great...

Can you even imagine never dieting again?

With such a strong pull towards our diet culture in society today, especially while we scroll through social media there is no wonder why women (and even men) feel overwhelmed and anxious about what to do to lose weight, get healthy or even what is the right thing to eat?

What if I told you there is a way that you can have your cake and eat it too?

IMAGINE IT! Only every focusing on what is FUELLING your body and never punishing it again!

This is what I call INTUITIVE EATING..

Intuitive eating isn’t as airy fairy as it appears to be. It isn’t a means to an end like every diet can be.  It is a set of tools (that’s right, not rules) and skills to give you freedom from food and to open up the rest of your life outside of food and body worry.

One of the biggest questions I ask my nutrition clients to ask themselves before they eat anything is… “Am I going to feel good before, during and after...
